Very nice! congrats on your daughters engagement.

DH and I only got married because we were buying a house, at least that is what DH says. We just never got around to it before then. We were engaged for 2 years before talking about the actual wedding. We were friends for 4 years and we were moving into a house with 2 other friends before we started dating. We dated for 8 years before becoming engaged.

Congrats! It's lovely to see someone doing things the "old fashioned" way. Nowadays people move in together, have kids and then think about getting married... maybe.

The wedding planning continues. DD is doing a great job.

Best of all, my new recliner was delivered today. Lolol. Haven't had one in 3+ years.

You don't know the half of it. Independent leg, lumbar, and head positions. Plus when upright, a rocker, and higher seat than normal for this tall guy

It is so important to find the right sized chair - especially in a recliner. DH is 6'4" so we can commiserate with the search for the right chair.

My sisters and I all pooled our money together and bought my Dad (6' tall) a lift chair for his 80th birthday. I insisted that we buy a chair with infinite, independent leg and back positions. He loves it and it is allowing him to be more mobile since he can get up alot easier. Used to be he would sit down and stay there most of the day because he couldn't get up very easy - he never said a word to anyone about his old chair being wore out!

Iron in the fire #1 complete. I landed the consulting job in March, with possibility of hiring into the client at the end of the year. I now start at the client as an employee in 3 weeks.
