Everyone in my family caught the flu but me.

My FIL got so bad he spent 4 days in the hospital. Fever hit 106 by the time the ambulance got to him. My MIL has also got it, she is at home. Wife is just getting over the flu, sons, daughter in laws, grand kids all have the flu :( I guess I'm too mean and nasty to catch the flu.

But that means I've been running my butt off after work, checking on everyone, going to the store, taking family members to the walk in clinic, picking up prescriptions, going to the hospital, bringing food (bananas, apple sauce, bread for toast, etc.. )

I'm so tired and will glad when everyone gets better and life gets back to "normal" again.

Idk about all tbis flu business. They come on tv telling me i need to get a flu shot or i could die. Then they say if i dont get a flu shot i could cause someone else to die.

The other day i met a nurse who had a bad reaction to a flu shot. He had gotten one every year for 20 years and then got some green ber desease or some ****. He was down for 6 months and almost paralysed. From a flu shot.

I never had a flu shot. I habent had the flu in a decade. But the government wants me to take one. Most time when so.eone is pushing something so hard they have to make stuff up to move the agenda, they are typically up to no good.

I'm on the same page with you CR. In my line of work, it's mandated that I must have a flu shot every year, or I must wear a mask while at work from Nov. 1 through Apr. 30. The last time I had a flu shot, I got the flu right afterwards, and AGAIN a short time later. Full blown respiratory flu. I have reactive airway disease, so anything that hits my lungs hits very hard and knocks me down for a very long time. It matters not to my employer that for me to wear a mask all day long is stressful to my respiratory system. The irony of this mask foolishness: While employees are mandated to suffer the needle or the mask, visitors come and go without being asked if they've had their shot or being asked to wear a mask. Based on the all powerful HIPPA regs, I find it amusing that an employer can get away with forcing an employee to wear a mask. Doesn't this regulation point a finger at employees, stating their immunization status? And isn't that private information???? Ironically, b/c I work per diem, I've been able to fly under the radar 2 years in a row, and have not been sick either of the last 2 flu seasons, in spite of repeated building lock downs due to flu epidemic in a population of patients who are all mandated to receive the flu shot!!!

This last fall, when they were sharpening up their needles, I discussed the issue with hubby, and was ready to tell my employer that I would remove my name from the per-diem list from Nov. through April if they demanded that I accept needle or mask. I thank God that it did not come to that, b/c we've been hit by one financial blow after an other.

Every where I go, I see signs: FREE FLU SHOT. NO DEDUCTIBLE. Why is there such a rush to give out free shots, when ALL necessary treatment is so costly? I just paid $50.00 deductible for an Albuterol inhaler for my GD who has asthma. Wouldn't you think that Big Brother would be concerned enough about my GD to see that she can have access to Albuterol without breaking into the housing or grocery budget?

My FIL was discharged this morning and is at a nursing home temporarily until my MIL gets better. He has Alzheimer's disease and requires constant care. Sometimes he remembers me, other times not. It's so sad, heartbreaking even when someone you love gets ALZ.

Its a really weird disease :(

If that were true, a population of elderly folks who have ALL had the flu shot should not suffer flu outbreaks of epidemic proportions EVERY winter.

I took my MIL to the walk in clinic yesterday evening. They gave her a chest xray, a steroid shot and prescriptions for an inhaler and tamaflu. The pharmacy was out of tamaflu. I just got back from getting her some dinner and running paperwork to the nursing home where my FIL is. It hit him so hard his temperature hit 106 and can't walk anymore. He has to have a therapist work with him to hopefully get him walking again.

By the time I got back to my MIL, she asked me to take her to the hospital. She is not one to go to the doctor, let alone the hospital willingly. I took her and they admitted her. I tell you this flu is some really bad juju, it's saddening and heartbreaking that it hits the elderly so hard.

I hate to ask but we really need your prayers, please.

Heavenly Father, we come before you, lifting up CC and his FIL, MIL, and the rest of his family up to you. I pray that you will bathe this family in your comfort. That You will enable the care givers to give appropriate and timely treatment, as well as compassion and wisdom. That You will bring quick strength and healing to these dear ones who are suffering with this illness. In the name of my precious Savior, Jesus Christ, I pray.
