There are of course a multitude of approaches to the subject of "gun confiscation". Frankly, the one that would seem to make the most sense is this. First, buy the gun you intend to use to defend yourself and your family and property. Be sure it is "properly" stored so that if any question comes up it won't be the subject of that discussion.

Secondly, buy a cheap, piece of junk gun that doesn't work and you wouldn't ever want to have to depend on for anything. Or maybe a few of the worst pieces of junk you can find. When the "authorities" come to ask for your gun, you graciously give them your precious pieces of useless junk and tell them how much safer you feel now that they have seen fit to take guns away from EVERYONE, in particular, the criminals. ;)

Once you have been so gracious and accommodating, the "authorities" will put their energy in seeking out those who refuse to surrender their weapons, leaving you law abiding citizens to feel safe and well protected.

Seems quite simple to me. We just give them what they want and they will leave us alone and go somewhere else and deal with folks who want to be "contrary". Remember, they are not that smart. They just want us to think that they are. Sooner or later they will have to blink and then it will be "your turn" to act. The Nazi's weren't that smart, they were just ruthless. No need to allow them to make you afraid of them.

There is a movie called "The Edge". In this movie there is a scene where a guy asks the character played by Anthony Hopkins "what is on the back of this canoe paddle?" and Hopkins answers "that's easy. It is a rabbit smoking a pipe. The rabbit is smoking because he is relaxed. He is relaxed because he knows he is smarter than his enemy." So must we also be "SMARTER THAN OUR ENEMY"
YMMV
