Ditto on what savingdogs said! I'd LOVE to redo mine!! I want darker countertops!!!!! Mine are almost white They always look dingy and EVERYTHING shows up on them!

The other is I found a rust-oleum specialty paint for laminate countertops. Everything in our house has been redone other than the cupboards and country blue countertops which drive me crazy. I think if this product works, I'd redo the counters in a brownish neutral. Anyone use or try this product?

A friend of mine used this and it lasted about 5 years. She did say that she had to be extra vigilant that no one cut anything on the counter top, and that putting a hot pot on it was an utter no-no because it melts the finish, but other than that it got her to the point she could afford new counter tops

Sounds like it might work well on my horrible bathroom laminate counter top. No hot cook pots or cutting veggies in there!

I'm hoping it will spiff up the kitchen enough for when we put it on the market again without all the rigamarole of redoing the counters or having them look ugly and be such an eyesore.

I got a free dishwasher today, cuz my old one wasn't working. It is being installed right now! My friend was just upgrading to match her stainless steel appliances in the rest of the kitchen. My other appliances are white like this is, anyhow!

Weekly Updates:
*Started the ginger carrots again... much less salt this time!
*Started my first batch of ACV.
*Actually took the time to contact someone through the realmilk website (sponsored by WAPF) to locate raw milk.
*E-mailed the contact for our local chapter of WAPF.
*Researched grass fed/finished beef -3 places to call tomorrow. I think we're going to try and get 1/4 beef.
*Sold some raspberry plants last night.
*Chicks growing and putting on weight -for sure 4 roosters, 4 pullets, and 6 that I'm still not sure on.
*9 page health questionaire completed for naturopath. Will call tomorrow for appt. Following advice on the other thread and will get her nutritional philosophy and do an initial appointment before getting tested or doing anything.
*Peas, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, bok choy, kale, cabbage, lettuce, and spinach doing good. Dogs dug a hole in the carrots going after a rodent, 3/4 of them should be okay. Still no sign of parsnips, beets or turnips.
*Grapes looking good, pear tree and both apple trees looking good. Strawberries have a few blossoms. Blueberries developing. Blackberries and raspberries leafed out. Fig tree didn't make it :-( and kiwi vine hasn't produced so it needs to go.
*Tomorrow we're going out to look at a 60 acre cattle farm for sale. Not serious but we thought we would start looking every once in a while so we had things to talk about and consider and brainstorm on our ideal property. It also keeps our goals in sharper focus and reminds us why we are doing what we do. It also helps keep the hope alive when I'm dog tired from working both full-time jobs and want to slack off.

Wow you have a lot going on.

I like the idea of looking at the land and farms. I think my dh would stay more focused on what our goal is as well. Especially if we could go see the land. Unfortunately the land we want is 1800 miles away.

Well, it was a lovely drive. The property was a definite no out of the starting gate. One way in had a 90 degree curve at the bottom of a very steep, long hill and the other way in you had to ford two creeks. Then when we pulled up to the place, there was a beautiful tobacco barn in great shape, hiding behind two unkept, rundown residences with dirt yards, broken down vehicles, and blue plastic barrels where they kept their fighting cocks. We made an immediate and stereotypical judgement that these were not likely to be good neighbors.

We were not allowed to see the upstairs apartment because there were tenants. Fences were not good on the property, it was very steep hills, and the pasture areas were mostly weeds. Very little grass. BUT, it did give us things to talk about and refine even more things that are important to us. And it was a lovely afternoon out from the house.
