Ooooo, yum!!! Isn't it so satisfying?
Today it is rainy (AGAIN!) and I feel like putting on a few pounds! It was a stressful day, with training someone to milk for me when I go away for three days, and then Ginger Peach had an injured foot/leg when I went out to feed her this morning. She seems ok now, but of course, I was convinced when I found her that it was broken and would need thousands of dollars in vet bills and it would get amputated anyways and we would lose the house and have to eat her to survive. Welcome to my brain. I scare myself sometimes....

Supplements
Cold chocolate goat's milk (the trainee's took the warm milk home with them as a thank you)
3 eggs, scrambled with butter
A veggie/fruit shake with 3 egg yolks
Cukes fresh from the vine, eaten in the garden, unwashed!
Fried zucchini experiments, below
10-12 servings of veggies/fruit
So I wanted to try frying up some zucchini. I don't like zucchini, but it is so foolproof to grow and that dark green skin is nutrient-rich, so I grow a bunch and hide it in things. I usually end up shredding gallons of it and freezing it, sneaking it into spaghetti sauce and winter soups, stews, and casseroles. And catfood!
I chose three young-ish zukes and shredded two of them, squeezed the water out of some and dropped it into hot chicken fat (wish I had some bacon fat or lard, but alas!) Not super happy with the results, so I went to the next step, batter.
I made a batter with two eggs, salt and pepper, sesame seeds and whole wheat flour (soft white wheat for pastry flour, made previously.) I sliced the third zuke on the diagonal and battered up and fried the slices. That made the dog curl up at my feet ("See how good I am???") and he even allowed one of the cats to sit right next to him, actually touching his back. He was determined to prove what a good boy he was being, and you know how cats like to torment the dog!
These were much better, quite tasty, and I still had some batter left over and some shredded zucchini, so I stirred the two together, and made three patties and dropped them in the fat to brown. Those were good, too, but a bit greasier. I gave a big chunk of one of those to the two good boys at my feet. They gobbled them right up!
Oh, and while I was pulling out the pan from the closet, I found an OOOOLLLLLD bag of Hershey's Nuggets stuck behind one of the shelves, slipping down in the little space behind the shelf and the wall. Five nuggets in that bag. Five nuggets now in my tummy! Yuk. Why do I do that ? Scroll up and read about Ginger Peach today....that is why!
