Anyone do this?

Make a bunch of french toast and freeze it....maybe nuke it lightly to revive it?

just wondering if it would work.

Nicole has wanted french toast so much lately, I just don't have alot of mornings of free time to get it made. Wondered if I can batch freeze it?

any info on it would help me...thanks

Absolutely! I used to do this all the time. I just toast the French toast, waffles or pancakes when we want them again.

Ahh...I wondered if I could pop them into the toaster or not.

With the egg/milk mixture cooked on them I wondered if it would be OK to pop into a toaster......well, yes it is!!!

thanks alot

Absolutely ! I make pancakes, waffles, and French toast and freeze them on a cookie sheet, then put them in a bag. The grandkids love them. They especially love the ones with mashed bananas in them !

When I was on low carb (not a good ending, will tell you some day) I froze sausage and herbed scrambled egg sandwiches as well. The eggs were rubbery of course, but I didn't seem to mind !

Here is an OAMC recipe I have used and the kids LOVED
French toast sticks for once a month cooking perfect for on the go and little hands.

Ingredients

* 8 slices bread (Texas Toast style or French)
* 1/4 cup melted butter
* 4 eggs
* 1/3 cup sugar
* 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
* 2/3 cup milk
* 3/4 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2.Cut each slice of bread into 3 pieces to make sticks. Texas Toast is a very thick sliced bread about 3/4" thick. You could substitute french bread if Texas toast is not available.
3.In a bowl, mix together melted butter, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and milk. Beat well.
4.Dip sticks into egg mixture and place on a cookie sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
5.If there is any dip left, you can drizzle it over the sticks.
6.Bake for 25 minutes on middle rack of oven. Turn halfway through baking time.
7.Allow to cool.
8.Flash freeze on cookie sheet, remove and place in a ziploc bag.
9.To reheat: place 3 sticks on a microwave-safe plate and heat on high for 1 minute until warm. Serve with syrup.

*eta I did not use that much sugar and also I reheated them in the oven at 400 for 10 minutes turning once halfway through cook time.

I'm glad you brought this up!

Now that I am eating sprouted bread I have to unfreeze it before I can do anything with it. So it usually ends up as just toast.

Thanks FarmerChick, I am just going to prepare a few slices on the weekend for quick and easy breakfasts during the week for my daughter and me. Simple, just toss in the toaster like toast.
