How big would they be by 6 months?

They won't be very big by 6 months - but there's just two of us and we don't need 200 lbs of pork in the freezer! When I the first bought these pigs the sow was a year old and was about 125 lbs (per seller) so my guess is maybe 60ish?

We woke up to a balmy 75 degrees (with a high of 80 predicted) with 90% humidity... ugh. BUT - we'll be freezing by tomorrow morning. Not that cold compared to others - but a 40+ drop in temp in less than 24 hours...geeze. Pretty drastic. Highs only in the 40's tomorrow.

Gotta cover those tomato plants again, lol! Cabbages will be fine - but I'll probably put a light layer of hay over them justincase.

Been trying to upload a stupid video of the newborns - but my computer is not cooperating. I'll try again later. Need to get my lazy, coffee-slurping butt outside to check on things and get started winterizing Gotta move a round bale too.

Not sure if this pic will be clear... but here goes.... This is within minutes of the birth of the first three. They are still covered in slime and still attached to the mother by their umbilical cords. They are NOT enjoying the weather, lol.

Eee! So cute! Glad you caught her in the act this time! That's so cool!
I'll make you feel better by telling you it was 12 here this morning. High is a balmy 35, and the rest of the week the temps are creeping up again.

Went to see an orthopedist doc today an got a cortisone shot in this foot. Not in a tendon, but around a metatarsal joint in hopes it will reduce inflammation and release the entrapped nerve to my last two toes.

It just kinda dawned on me today that I have 12 baby pigs running around out there, lol! TWELVE!That's ok cuz I love me some pork!

Nothing much else going on around here. Just starting the waiting game for kidding season. I shouldn't have anything due before March. Yesterday Dusty (Nubian buck) was running the pasture with all the girls. Geeze....But, I didn't see him acting stupid or chasing any one. Hope the breeding is done for this year.

Guess I should get outside and enjoy this BEAUTIFUL day! We've got gorgeous blue skies and it's 72 degrees! Whoop, whoop!

Soooo glad it's warm there. 19 this AM and up to a sunny 42 late day but, no wind & that sure helps. Tomorrow up in low 50s. Will be a good day because we will be back to "normal" for us this time of year. Taking GDD to shop for her mom.

I work a wine demo Friday, then ham demo on Sat. Then off until 30 & 31.

@Mini Horses - a wine demo! Woo Hoo - sound like fun, lol. Only I know you'll be working. After all the work is done - enjoy your time off!

How are your little piggies doing? My older batch is 4 weeks now and really starting to eat well. The four itty bitty ones are still hanging out in the nest and not getting out much. They root around in their stall, but not leaving it yet, even though I started leaving the door open yesterday.

I hope the shot helps too - but right now it's hurtin' like a son of a gun. Shot in the top of the foot around all those bony parts wasn't pleasant - but it's worth it if it helps!

And, orthopedist told me I made a good call by not having surgery on the tendon. He says it's an "iffy" surgery and success rate isn't the best. So - yay me!
