Well -----
Glad DH feels he can move forward. WE can never experience his sight/lack thereof but, he must feel ok with the task at hand. Maybe he will work more with sugar levels, after what he has been through of late. Maybe. (Men !

I could do haunted but, only while awake.
Now, as to the "don't wanna" feelings --- it's so normal for those of us who have livestock & farms. NONE of us take vacations & mostly due to not having anyone to help with the animals. We really NEED to have time off to regenerate. Often only a day or two can help. Milking does make it harder to find help.
I have always felt it would be most helpful to have several living close by that had similar animals to share a day or two of helping for one another.

My daughter lives here on my farm and will do water/feed chores for a day or so but, works FT and can't take on but so much. She will not milk. LOL With summer, pasture main diet, I could arrange an overnight but......need a place to go.
Farm sitting by knowledgeable animal people could pay well. Problem is that many "farmers" can afford to leave if they have to pay a sitter.

Animals can be a $$$ pit.
Even tho a long day, I hope you can enjoy the field trip.
