Oh My Goodness - I'm so excited!!!!! It's almost football season, lol. My Texans play their first pre-season game today! There have been some good additions to the roster and I'm looking forward to seeing what they can bring to the team. Go Texans!!
In other news - lost an old doe this week. She's been gently fading for awhile so it wasn't unexpected. What was unexpected is that my daily milker somehow came in from the pasture with a brand new hernia on her belly. WTHeck? She didn't have it at morning milking and by late afternoon - there it was! I'm kind of shocked. I've seen hernias in newborns but never dealt with one on a 3-year-old doe. This has to be the result of an injury of some type, but I have no idea what or how it might have happened. Honestly, it doesn't bode well for her future. I don't think it's advised to breed a doe with an umbilical hernia for fear of it strangulating and a surgical intervention is not in her future. I guess we'll leave this one to Mother Nature and see how it plays out. If it becomes a bigger problem, she won't be allowed to suffer.
We skipped a couple of workouts this week because of DH's back pain. Got back to it yesterday and will continue on today.
Picked up feed a couple days ago and still don't have it all unloaded. Need to remedy that this morning.
Next on the to-do list is to tidy up the storm shed justincase. It's that time of year...
