are you seeing many minnows for the bass and bluegills yet?
We have tons of minnows. I put several thousand in when first stocking the pond and they've been successfully reproducing. The bluegills are also very successfully reproducing and the bass love nothing more than to snack on them. When fishing at another place we try to catch small bluegill to use as bait for bass and have been pretty successful with that tactic.

Whew - challenging couple of days! Oh well, what else is new, lol.

Yesterday morning woke up to DH's blood sugar alarm screaming at us. Not sure why it waited until his BS was low - in the critical range - but that's what we had to work with. We keep juice and power bars in the bedroom, so we got it treated quickly. He went right back to sleep while I watched to make sure he was responding appropriately. Not a fun way to wake up.

I picked up feed the other day and still had to get 6 bags out of the truck so I could get the trailer hooked up and moved. I needed to back it up close to the garage to get air in the tires. All of that in preparation to get some hay. Also had to cut a low hanging branch off of a tree in the front yard that the trailer would have hit. Fun times getting my hair full of wood chips...

The day got worse, lol.

I unloaded the feed and moved the trailer. I could tell it had low tires by how hard it was to move through the grass. I tried airing them up but one tire has a bad valve stem and wouldn't hold air, so nothing to do but pull the tire off to get it fixed. Yea - like that actually happened, lol! Not! Those tires have been on that trailer forever and they didn't want to budge. OH yea - "they" instead of "it." Two damn tires on the same side ended up being flat. So, tried to get the one off and had a hell of a time getting the lug nuts loose, but I'm a stubborn ol' _itch and got them all loosened. One of 'em was really stubborn and unfortunately, I ended up rounding off the lug nut and couldn't get it off. I feel so insignificant!

How do you get off a messed-up lug nut? With special "stuff" that I don't own, of course. I got on Amazon and was about to order the stuff but didn't really know the size. Called DS to ask him about what size I needed and he said I didn't need anything. He came over this morning and brought all the appropriate stuff to pull the tires off, fix the valve stems and basically save me, lol. I try really hard to not ask for help - at least not until I've given it my best shot. I just couldn't get that damn lug nut off. I did at least get the spare off and had it aired up so it was ready to go on if needed.

Afterwards we got on the big "A" and ordered everything I need to change a stubborn flat tire. I may go the rest of my life and never need to change a tire again, but by golly I have the specialized tools now. Changing tires with a 4-way tire iron is the pits! The $$$$ for those tools is peace of mind and worth every penny. I've changed tractor tires, and truck tires and trailer tires all with a tire iron. I never intend to do that again!

Spent several hours after that adventure on the lawnmower in the pasture. I have a whole bunch of sedge out there that is the bane of my existence. I hate that stuff. I mow it down whenever I get the opportunity. It's so rough in my pasture that I feel like I've been beaten with a stick. Riding that lawnmower out there is like riding a bronc, lol. I hurt all over. But - it's done!

i'm glad you have DS to help out. my luck would involve breaking the lug nut bolts off or stripping the threads.

i was just looking at the maple tree turning color and noticed so really red leaves, i hope it's not poison ivy (20+ft up!). i've not seen them before on this tree - sure don't want that stuff there - it is already plenty of other places.

Hope not too! That stuff is evil!

he has come thru in some tight pinches 😖☺️🤣 I also hate to ask.
My son has a very stressful job - he's a supervisor of an electrical contracting company and is over crews at 3 different plants. He's busier than a one-armed paper hanger and never really gets a day off. Even when he's off - he's on call. I try very hard to not add to his load. Even this time I only asked for information, but he jumped into action. That's why I try not to ask for help or even let on that something around here isn't exactly right. It's also why I've learned some new skills - nothing wrong with that!

Weirdest thing happened last night. I've been hanging clothes on the line lately and was taking off some of them right at dusk last night. I had taken down several pairs of socks and was holding them with one hand against my chest while I was carrying something else in my other hand. All of a sudden I felt something moving in the socks - YIKES! I threw down the handful of socks on top of a dog crate and dang it if a tiny bird didn't fly out of one of DH's socks, lol! I guess it thought it had a nice comfy place to sleep, and I ruined all its plans. Never seen a bird try to take refuge in a sock before... :hu
