In Mississippi, we have a Booger Den, Hot Coffee, West, Possum Neck (West is east of Possum Neck), Panther Burn, Tchula (chew-la)Coila (sounds like the "bear" from Australia) Askew, Money (almost dead broke town), Chicken Bone.

I like "Booger Den", that's cool! :)

Having grown up in PA, the ones that come immediately to mind are the classic Pennsylvania town names, Intercourse and Bird-in-hand.

Along the lines of your West Possum Neck (but without the charming imagery :)), in NJ there is New Brunswick, east of which is South Brunswick, while south of New Brunswick is East Brunswick.

TX has many weird town names: Krum, TX; Drop, TX; Paris, TX; Dime Box, TX; Shiner, TX, to name a few.

The funny one here is "Purdy, WA". (It sounds like it should be in TX.)

"Booger Den"

Ya'll don't go 'round Booger Den after dark. Sumpin'll git you!
It's really a community, not a township.
I guess Yazoo didn't really strike me as weird, although there is a fictional, spooky ghost tale about the town.

These are some good ones. I saw Purdy over on the Texas thread and it make me think of this.
Toadsuck is my favorite so far :gig

I went through a town in 97 named Booger hollow - so dang cute I had to take a picture next to the sign! I think it was in Arkansas. :D

There is a little town called Sekiu in Washington. I just thought it was a weird name. Not sure what it means. I can't think of any other odd ones off the top of my head.

Purdy is where they have the correction center for women. :p

Here in Oregon we have a Boring (it is) and a Nimrod (mostly they are). Another one I like is Drain, but mainly because it floods a lot. :)
