I do not own a generator because whenever I need one I prefer a generator rental . I guess in case of emergencies it would not be easy to rent one because then everyone wants one so in order to be prepared it would be better to buy one. Maybe I will do this prospectively if I find a cheap offer. Until then I will use the generator rental because I am very satisfied with it.

Generator rental would do you no good in a real emergency, sad to say! Kinda like waiting to buy the milk and TP in a snow storm! 
We plan to buy one, probably more than we need, but since he can get them at cost through his work we'll take everything we can get!!
