Trust me, OFG...the thought did cross my mind.
Tanks - we thankfully had a generator so the cow didn't go all soft in the freezer. We were able to shower once a day so, yes, we still went to work every day. My MIL watched little g since the daycare was closed but surely didn't mind a little grammie time!
So, on to sad news...
April passed away last night. As I mentioned I brought her to my friend's house so she wouldn't get bred and all was well with her, she ate every day like usual and last night at their supper seemed normal. My friend knew April was sick so I told her to keep that in the back of her mind so she wouldn't be surprised if something did happen, but we sure didn't expect her to pass away this quickly. She was right as rain last night and then dead this morning. I guess she had a little blood coming out of her rectum, which sorta makes sense if you think that her cancer was in her udder - who knows if it was also on her organs and such.
So, the positive is that she didn't suffer and didn't have to go through the winter being sick. The negative is that my friend had to deal with it, but she didn't mind. She's even going to bury April on her property because we have a lot going on right now. I love her!
Everyone else is doing well. Duke, my nubian buck, really doesn't know what to do with all these ladies hemming and hawing over him. He needs a lesson in manlihood...
