Big G isn't really into soap making. He likes the soap, though!
So I just called him to tell him I "won" something on the radio...I love 80's and 90's music along with country so I usually spend my day changing the radio station to something else and on the soft rock station I heard the 'call in now' to become a qualifier in a big contest to win 11 tickets to a Bon Jovi concert! Miraculously I was the right caller! I'll admit, it's not the first time I've tried to become a qualifier for this deal, but I never thought I'd actually get through. So now on Friday night we're going to a bowling alley where the radio station is throwing a party and picking a winner. Since we all like bowling we're just going to make a family date night out of it and enjoy free food at the party. How awesome is that! And imagine if I won 11 tickets to see Bon Jovi -OMG. They're "box" seats if you will so they're not really close or anything, but still....BON JOVI.
little g's obsessed with Living on a Prayer, Wanted Dead or Alive and, his personal favorite, You Give Love a Bad Name. You should hear him sing it...imagine a 5 yr old boy in the back seat of the car playing air guitar...it's that hilarious!
So after I told Big G about my winnings, I told him we got an email from a former co-worker of his who wanted his resume for something. But since our computer is broken I asked him how the heck we were going to get it to the guy. Big G said 'cause we're going to the store and buying a new one today'.
Our computer is 6 years old - it's not that bad at all and it might even be fixable, but I really want a lap top with a docking station. That way we can sit and use the old monitor/keyboard when doing long projects or we can take the computer along with us on trips (puts my desire for a portable DVD player to rest too!). So we're going to Best Buy tonight. First we're going to see if they can fix ours up real fast and if not, I'm out of a bunch of recent pictures and some excel spreadsheets I made up for my soap business, but nothing that's going to kill us.
I've realized that the more I loose stuff the better off I am because it forces me to realize some stuff just isn't as important as I thought. When it's gone it's gone and there's little you can do to help the situation so you either pick up and go on or dwell, which stinks. I'd rather just move on.
