glenolam's madness - April passed away

Yeah, it's really amazing hearing sounds over the monitor. Even though the chicken coop is a ways away from the barn, I can hear the roos too. And the other morning I heard the weirdest scratching noise coming from the monitor. I looked out and the guineas were running across the barn roof.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to use goat kidding as an excuse to call out of work, but I do it anyway!

By now my boss sorta just lets me do what I need. As long as my stuff gets done, right?

I did get to happily trot to work today. little g started with a cough this morning so now my mother's all in a hype about pnuemonia. She's a nurse at his pediatrician's office and she said there's tons of cases running around. If his fever doesn't go away tonight I'll keep him home again tomorrow and bring him in. Ugh. :(

Big G has an appt this afternoon to see if he can go back to work tomorrow. I sure hope so - he needs a reality check! :P

I'm hopping up on vitamins and drinking lake amounts of water now, too. I've got the stuffy nose and sneezing going on and my throats a lil scratchy.

Yep, Opi's gonna kid real soon, I just know it!

All this talk of kids reminds me of a story.

A friend of mine had a sick kid. She was told she had to work on the weekend. She didn't want to, and told her boss, I have a sick kid I need to take care of. I have to give it it's medicine. The boss wouldn't budge. Told her to bring the kid w/her, just make sure she had a blanket and some toys for it. So, she brought her kid to work. It's not her fault her boss didn't realize she had no children, and it was a goat kid. And, he couldn't say a word! But from what I understand, not much work got done that day.

As soon as you said "I need to give it its medicine" I immediately knew what the punchline was going to be!

Great story - I sure wish I could bring all my 'kids' to work...

little g's at home again today. He was perfectly normal when I got home yesterday - no fever, no cough, and boy was he a chatty kathy.

So he did his homework along with other workbook pages since he wasn't in school (I couldn't justify keeping him home and not have him do any school work!) and got him all prepped to go.

He woke up this morning whining, wimpering, coughing with a 101.7 fever. :(

Now we have a doctor's appt at 1:20. Since it's his 3rd day out of school he has to have a dr's note taking him out of school due to illness so we have to go regardless.

Oh, and Opi's leaking yellowy-amber goo.

And it's raining, sleeting, hailing, flooding and we're supposed to get winds up to 50 mph.

And I'm sick....

Yep - it's gonna be a great weekend.

When it rains it pours! I hope little G feels better soon! And I hope Opi manages to wait for a decent time to kid!

:smack

Let's not forget I'm supposed to go to some bowling thing from 6 - 8 pm, when the weather's gonna be the worst, to see if I won those Bon Jovi tickets....

Man...if it was anyone other than Bon Jovi I'd skip it.

But right now I'm livin on a prayer so it's only fitting I go.

Makes me want to sing. But Java doesn't sing  I used to love Bon Jovi until my parents decided it would be cool go to a concert. They rock out on a regular basis. Whatever keeps them young, eh? (they are not 60 yet, so technically they are still young :P)

:hugs hope the weather clears up and all goes well for you!

(still giggling about the living on a prayer comment!) :gig
