glenolam's madness - April passed away

Your soaps are so pretty. I really like the one with the purple on top and swirled around in it.

I can't wait to get goats and milk and be able to make soap.

Nice soap!
I need to get myself out to TSC and pick up some meaties this week. Been waiting for this dang weather to straighten up, but it's not happening. And I have to cull the old hens who I thought were rebounding, but they have stopped laying again.

Thanks! That's my favorite part about having goat milk! I'm venturing out more with colors and swirls - with the Lemon Poppy Seed I think I'm going to color the "base" yellow and put the poppy seeds in that part and color a "swirl" black and swirl it together.

Still need to work on my cucumber melon look - the last time it looked more like sherbert!

Do you all like those little donut and heart soaps? I ALWAYS have batter left over and have been acumulating random tiny silicone molds - my star mold and strawberry mold just bit the dust so now I've just got the donut and heart one, but I have to tell you - whenever you see one at the local thirft store or craft shop PICK IT UP! They come in so handy with the "extra" batter. You can also use those applesauce cups or fruit cups - there's one of those in the picture too.

The soaps look great! I was out of shampoo this morning, so I used your almond soap for my hair! :P

And great idea about picking up molds at thrift stores! I swear I'm going to actually quick fooling around and make some darn soap this summer! I'd like to sell it at a craft show i do in December.

I get silicon molds at garage sales. I have plain muffin tins but I really like my rose pattern mold. The hearts are cute and that snowflake is awesome.

The snowflake came from the Christmas Tree Shops. My mom picked it up on clearance there and since I had already used the "in season" extra molds I poured the almond into the snowflake mold - after all, it just gives them more time to cure before I put them out there!

I also have flower ones and snowman ones but what I REALLY REALLY want is a bundt cake mold to make a soap cake. A "slice your own peice" type of offering at the fall shows. But I HATE spending a lot of money on molds and a silicone one is quite expensive. Can't use the aluminum one I already have  Boy, that would help me out so much if I could.

So...wanna know how much I love my friend J????

She's a licensed massage therapist and has heard about my milking ache. She's coming over tonight to give me a free hand massage! :ya

I must say the aches and pains are subsiding now, but I can definitely still feel the burn about 5 minutes into milking!

Forgot to add that we finally got some meaties! Little chicks that are already outside in the old guinea hen house. NO WAY are they living inside. NOPE. They've got a nice enclosed area with plenty of straw/bedding, a heat lamp, huge waterer and feed trough. I'll get a picture up one of these days!

Already had 1 casualty but not sure why. Little thing had just died when I went out to check them last night. Good thing we bought 15! I told Big G we might as well buy all they had because "casualties are to be expected".

I've been a soaping fool. Got a new crinkle cutter too! I splurged and got a nice mitre cutting box complete with a crinkle cutter and a straight cutter. I absolutely love it! Much better than my "ruler and knife" cutting method!

Batches done this week so far:
Lavender
Almond
Acai Berry
Patchouli

Here's some crappy pictures of the soap before I've "polished" them:

Left to make this week/early next week:
Anise (HEN! What do you think of Lavender Anise? or do you prefer just anise?)
Oatmeal Milk & Honey
Cucumber Melon
Lemmon Poppy Seed
Raspberry

:weee

I'm so happy I have milk! I made little g a Strawberry Banana smoothie for breakfast and surprised him after he'd already slugged some down...I told him I added Fudgie's milk! I think I just might get him hooked!
WEll, it probably would smell great and as much as I love the smell of lavender it makes me sneeze like crazy! So my personal preference would be plain anise. But I'm weird...

i love the purple swirly soap...
i want to get into soap making sooo bad...any tips for a beginner lol!
