Can I just say, I'm very glad I don't like salmon.

Along with the labeling laws being so lax, it will be very difficult to tell where your salmon came from (or what genes it may have added).

Oh geeze…. I always buy "wild caught" and sure hope that there's truth in labeling! Sigh....

Wild caught here, and preferably local. Even more preferable is hubby catching them.

Perhaps a new term needs to be established for consumer awareness. Maybe something like GMA (Genetically Modified Animal).

My taste preference leans toward farm raised salmon. I find wild caught to be dryer and tougher. But, GMO.... And their attestation that there is no environmental impact? Come on... just how stupid do they think we are? What happens to the non GMO populations when these behemoths enter the wild population???? I'm more concerned about the environmental impact than I am about ingesting the GMO salmon. Once it's cooked, the genetic code is totally inactivated. And, IMO, it should be law that GMO and irradiated foods will be labeled as such.

Wild is usually different pacific salmon species. Farmed is atlantic salmon.
