oh yes research is a good thing. we learn to do things the right way...LOL..before the internet I would do things 50 times sometimes to get it right..LOL...with the internet the step by step instructions that one can get are wonderful! :)

experiment. off my goats I can get about 1/2 cup or a little more of milk per milking....with definitely leaving some for the babies. So udder size makes a difference on how much.

I had an Alpine/boer cross and her bag was huge...practically hit the ground...these kind of bags are hard on babies to find also. The lower the teat the harder for a new baby to find it...so I don't like goats with too low hanging of an udder.

But that Alpine, wow I got tons of milk from her.
