Mine don't come unless I have something edible in my hands. If there is green on the ground - forget it, they aren't coming to me.

Maybe that's just it. They figure when I'm calling them that I must have something to eat. 
One thing that I'll do w/my girls is if i have an area where I need the weeds cleaned up, I'll set up a temp pen. This pen consists of 2 cattle panels cut in half, some step in posts, and something to secure them together. I'll stick them in there w/ a pan of water, and let them have at it. Much easier than trying to get it all done myself. I have a whole area of my yard that's being overtaken by honeysuckle vines. They will be cleaning it up for me.

Deb I just tell myself they love me anyway - even though I know it's the food they truly love.
We are going to do some temporary pens this year too. I am so looking forward to them cleaning out the brush area.
