OK, our house isn't even listed, and as you may or may not know, we have been tossing around the idea of downsizing the house and upsizing the land. today we received our second call from someone who has just sold their house privately, and they are interested in ours. They heard from someone hubby had talked to that we wer considering moving.
Their house closes in June. so I called a real estate agent about a farm that is for sale. We are going to look at it tomorrow. He warned us that the house needs ALOT of work. Roof, windows, doors, kitchen, bathroom etc. the farm land is excellent, it is 1/2 minute from Lake Erie (yay!) with a conservation area across the road (perfect for riding our horses), 30.8 acres. A three story old wooden barn, and a steel newer building.
the real estate agent was quite frank with me about the condition of the house--he says it has good bones but the rest needs work. So tomorrow we will see if it is worth the money and effort, and whether or not we talk to the guy who is interested in our house.
So, we'll see. We have renovated many houses in our past, and have done everything form drywall to wiring, plumbing, new kitchens and bathrooms. the state of the house is reflected in the price (it is dirt cheap and has been for sale for a while). So, while we are not getting our hopes up, we'll see. I'm cautiously excited that I might get a real farm.
