We close Monday @ 10:00 AM. They rescheduled closing twice. My two granddaughter's and my favorite daughter in law came over to help pack. They all wanted to go see "grandma's new house" so we all piled in the bus for the 3.5 mile "adventure" according to my older granddaughter. There is a tire swing hanging off a old maple tree up by the house that they granddaughter's found that I never noticed before. They also picked handfuls of flowers.

My neighbor from across the road who grew up on the property, came over to meet us. Nice older guy, he said anything you want to know about this property I can tell you. So asked about what kind of fish are in the pond. He said his dad stocked the pond in the early 50's with flathead cat, channel cat and bass.

I know there are large mouth bass because my daughter in law and I seen them today cruising the shore line. She said look there's fish, I didn't see them at first be then I did after she pointed them out to me.

I was thinking about getting some fingerling rainbow trout and putting in there so you would catch a trout occasionally. But now I know I would just be feeding the catfish, if I did.

Great for you that the neighbor KNOWS the property..... That is one of the advantages of the house I am buying also.... the people I am getting it from, the lady is one of 3 girls that grew up in the house..... they wrote down all the dates of when the kitchen was remodeled, the "new" roof on the one part of the house, electrical upgrades ..... things like that. There are several other things I have to ask them again..... I want to write it down along with what they have given me, so it is documented. There is an old RR bed that goes through it so not any good to grow anything, when there used to be a spur line there many years ago.... and the concrete marker from the rr company.... little things like that. Where the garden used to be, where the pig pen was and the chicken house that isn't there anymore....some things I will keep the same, like the garden, some I will probably do different.

I envy your pond very much.....

Thanks... to me the pond is pretty cool to have your own private fishing hole. I'm definitely going to put in some kind of ancored dock floating dock. Just don't know what kind yet.

I don't know how I overlooked obvious things like a tackroom in the barn and how in the world could I overlook a old deep well that's circled about waist high with bricks? and a tire swing that my grand daughters ran too first when they got out of the bus?

I get the keys to the house Monday. So more pictures to follow for sure.

Since I assigned my wife mower duty. I figured it would only be fitting to buy her a new zero turn.

We spent a big part of the afternoon looking at various brands and having her sit on them. We decided on up a BadBoy with a 25 HP motor and a 60 inch deck. She said it was the most comfortable and It seemed pretty well built to me with a welded 3/16 deck instead of a thin stamped one, plus hydraulic steering and transmission.

For the floating dock I was looking at this homemade design using 55 gallon foodgrade plastic barrels. I will probably go with something like this with a table in the middle on a 150 foot rope, so you can pull it back to the deck. This will most likely be a winter project. Stuff like this slides a lot easier on frozen ground.

Biggest Bing Cherry tree I ever seen, it has to be very old. It's in front of the barn There are also 3 pear trees, 1 apple and 2 peach trees in the orchard. My wife wants to expand the orchard I agree with her.

Basement

Propane gas furnace and air handler air conditioning. Tankless instant hot water heater rated at 350 gallons per hour. We'll never use that much hot water.

Laundry is under and by the stairs.

Finally a unfinished room that will become our canning jar room. Wife wants to leave it unfinished with cement block exposed & unheated so it will stay cool. I'll leave the large north facing window for fire escape. I'll most likely paint it black to block sun light.
