I would go back to the local brewery and have it filled again. It is called a growler!

Our friends actually got it a the package store in town. The brewery is farther away. However, the beer was very tasty and we'll be buying it again.

Here is a recipe similar to the one I use (I can't find my Kitchen Cordials book at the moment)

COFFEE LIQUOR (LIKE KAHLUA)

4 c. water
3 c. (up to 3 1/2 3/4 to taste) sugar
1 vanilla bean (slice lengthwise in 2) or 3 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. instant Sanka coffee (powdered)
1 fifth vodka

Boil water and sugar for 5 minutes. Remove. Add coffee (Sanka). Heat to boil; cool for 1/2 hour. Put vodka and vanilla in gallon jug, add other mixture when cool and mix. If using bean, put in dark closet for 6 weeks. If using extract can use immediately. Make 3/4 of jug full.

Here is one that uses whole coffee beans. I may give this a try...

2 cups grain alcohol. Can be purchased on the net.
1 lb coffee beans (I used Jamaican coffee beans)
One vanilla bean
split.
5 cups of sugar
3 cups of hot water.

Pout into DARK glass bottles and let sit for 6 weeks.

One more...

Homemade Kahlua
From Scott Baird of 15 Romolo
Homemade Kahlua

Ingredients

1 750 ml bottle vodka or white rum (I used Stoli)
1 1/4 cups dark rum (Scott recommended Pampero, but I couldn't find it)
1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 pound whole coffee beans
1 tablespoon cocoa nib (optional)
1 vanilla bean
cinnamon stick, slice of orange peel (optional)

Directions

1. Combine all of the ingredients in a sealable container. Shake hard to combine.
2. Label with the date and let sit in a cool, dark place for three weeks. Shake or stir the mixture several times of week.
3. Strain through cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer into a clean vessel. Use like you would Kahlua or any other coffee liquor.

Makes 1 bottle of Kahlua.
