Has anyone here gotten one of those new saltless water softners?

I need a water softner and wondering if there are any resident experts on these.

Do you mean using potassium chloride instead of sodium? We did that when we lived in Phoenix about 10 years ago.

The potassium is more expensive, but the water is better for the yard and plants.

Not really I'm talking about different ones. One of which is nanotechnology.
