Hello from Southern Illinois

Hiya, im whysprs (whispers) from southern Illinois.. no its not Chicago-land, that's way way way north of me. Anyways, we are buying a 5 acre lot, we call it our farmstead. so far we have chickens, rabbits and turkeys but we also have all the neighborhood animals that like to take up residence in our barn.

I myself have been a "prepper" (not a dooms day prepper though) for years but have more looking towards being just self sufficient because once that happens you're already pretty much prepared.. right?
