I use the teat dip from Hoeggers, it's chlorhexadine based. I just got done with treating my doe for a subclinical mastitis/staph problem in her udder. THe only reason I knew something was wrong was the milk tasted a little tangy. It gave me a wake up call, because I'd been using baby wipes or just dishsoap to wash, and you really need something antibacterial. I don't care to treat for staph again, so I'll be making sure to use something strong enough. I post dip the whole teat, and I put the dip cup up against her udder and shake up and down so I know I really got good coverage. I'll probably go ahead and buy a .5% iodine based pre-dip, and do a 1% post dip after my chlorhex stuff runs out.
