My oldest child has an upset stomach. I'm looking for something to calm it naturally. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hot peppermint tea with a little honey usually works for me. It also works well for a stuffy nose.

Flat gingerale, a little bit of baking soda mixed with water, maybe ginger tea?

We don't have much for teas in the house so, we tried the baking soda and water. Funny faces made but, it seems to have helped.

Thank you!

When we were growing up it was Canada Dry or Vernors gingerale.

But now we either eat a piece or two of crystallized ginger or drink a cup of peppermint ginger tea.

Yup. What they said. When I was preggers, I drank peppermint tea and flat ginger ale ALL day. The only problem I ever had with the mint tea was the heartburn it caused but I was pregnant and got heartburn anyway so... ?

Most storeboughten gingerale does not contain any ginger, just synthetic flavorings. Either buy one of the 'little' brands that does actually list ginger on its ingredients or try crystallized ginger or homebrewed ginger tea.

I don't know HOW I would have gotten thru my pregnancies without ginger :p

Just don't eat too hugely much of it at once if you're not used to it, as that can cause a ruckus lower down in the digestive tract ;)

Good luck,

Pat
