How about a short term steals and deals type of forum in the financial section?

i just came across one and thought it would be worth posting it, but this doesn't quite fit
under for sale or trade (unless you want to expand that to also have steals and deals)?

just a thought.

i would suggest it for TEG too.

Interesting idea! If we get enough peeps interested, we'd definitely look into it.

Are there existing threads / posts already being made for these kinds of things, but just in other sections?

well, i put my post in the buy sell trade forum in both SS and TEG since that was the closest i could find.

the problem would be if it became just a source of spam v.s. actually used items that happen to be on sale at an excellent price.

since i am a huge shopper (sarcasm), i don't expect to use this but once in a great while, but others may find it helpful and to me that's the whole point of it. if something you are keeping an eye out for goes on sale then maybe you'll have a reason to get one at last.
