My BIL had a cat named (we thought- never saw how he spelled it) Hinoshi. I thought it was something Japanesey, and asked him where the name came from. He explained that he took the cat to be spayed one day; he got a call a bit later from the vet saying "I can't spay your cat." "Why not?" "Because she is a he!" Turned out, the cat had so much long fluffy fur that even the vet didn't notice the male accoutrements until AFTER he had cut and realized he couldn't find any ovaries. So the poor thing ended up with both surgeries.
She settled in very well and is every bit as affectionate (and fussy!) as our previous cat. I am 99% sure they are siblings, as they look similar and I know of a tabby that is running around the village, especially our street, and the timing between kittens fit.
Oh yes, the bearer of food Took mine about 2 days to realise that makes humans a VERY good thing! lol She's a little monster when it comes to feeding time, which in her opinion, should be about 4x a day at least. Apart from that she's great fun and very playful and snuggly
I vacuumed the upstairs carpets this morning and last I saw of her was fluffy black and white streak disappearing under my bed.
This is just my opinion so it may not matter but I think the name should also go along with a cats temperment, personality and how it came to be in the house. Nope, I didn't name the cats that currently reside in my household. They already had their names and was used to them so it was too late to change them.
It's not being adorable today! Shouting it's head off in the kitchen and every time I go in there, scoots behind the fridge/cupboard/stove where I can't get hold of it. I hope it's going to get over this being scared stage soon. The last kitten I rescued did this for about 3 days if I remember correctly.
I'm waiting for DS to come home from school and help me pick a name for her. (I'm 90% sure it's a her, I didn't see anything shouting "boy" when I examined it) Betcha he's going to say Oreo!
