M&tg- "What terrifies me is that if politics proceeds as usual, some really huge, really urgent, life-threatening issues will not be resolved and it will be too late.
I don't know if it is just one of the negatives of democracy, or if these attacks are carefully constructed and timed in politics. It's probably both. But, how will any work get done if people don't even TRY to see the other side at all?"
- I'm sure that those political attacks are planned and timed but I think the people doing them have gone temporarily insane. They need to calm down, and get a referee before they end up looking like an episode of Jerry Springer.

I wish they only covered one issue on each bill so each topic could be voted on individually. They attach unrelated bills to manipulate whether things go through or not. Line item veto is valuable but the dirtier politicians don't want it used.
I also think we have too many rules on the books.
Farmerlor- Merry meet! We agree on lots of stuff here.
" pagan, self-sufficiency is about protecting the land, protecting the small farmer and protecting my neighbors. I want more education, more economic sense and more environmental sense. I want LESS government interference in my life-the government has no say in when or who anyone marries, or when we choose to breed or where we choose to worship."
I'm just not any particular party because none of them are perfect. Every once in a while a really good candidate will pop up but it's not consistent enough for me to want to join any of them.
