I'm probably missing something completely obvious, but I can't see how to read only the newest posts in a thread since I last looked at it? Every thread I've clicked on since logging in a few minutes ago takes me to the OP. Thanks!

Great question!
Unfortunately the "what has been read" data didn't convert over perfectly, so you may want to mark all items as "read":

After that, when you click on topics with new posts (marked bolded and with an image to the left) you should be automatically taken to the first unread post. Also, you can click the "new posts" link:
