Don't blame you on the cows, I've had cows, I like cows, but opted for small livestock that would be easier to handle. We have hair sheep. We have friends that raise grass fed beef, we buy half a steer and are happy with that arrangement.

Mom was just not working for us she would not allow anyone else to eat no matter how much food we offered she would finish her portion and bully everyone else out of theirs even her calf. We had to stay there until everyone had their share so we decided against cows.

+1 for grass fed and finished beef. Here is where we buy our beef from. It's expensive, but worth every cent. Simply no comparison to grocery store beef. I must admit I had a bit of an issue with fat being light yellow instead of white but I got over it when I tasted the flavor difference.
