drink lots of water
i know this is akin to saying i hate being alive, but i hate drinking water. i gulp down as much as i can everyday, but i don't enjoy it one bit. it tastes like nothing and it makes my tummy hurt.
Gasp!:th Just kidding :D

Even THAT is under scrutiny now! I hear the old "drink 8 glasses of water per day" was not based on research and is probably not good advice. Now I hear we're just s'posed to listen to our thirst.

Makes sense! But, I also know the more water I drink the less I feel like eating snacks. I drive my family nutty. Water is my answer for everything. "My head hurts!" Drink water. "I feel like I'm getting sick." Drink water. "I'm hungry!" (right after a meal). Have a glass of water.

Well..... since YOU brought it up abifae... ;)

Yeah, I'd rather not see too-concentrated pee, either. Drinking lots of water makes me feel great! Oh, I forgot one. It's also my remedy for feeling sluggish :)

We disliked water till we bought our Berkey. A week afterward, my son said, "Mom, it's like I can't get enough water now!" It's been almost a year and we are still drinking like never before.

oooh! i shall try this. i don't have canning stuff though. so... recommendation on a canner? lol. i'm perpetually broke but i'd squeeze a canner into my budget for the kitty :)
I got my first pressure canner off of Craig's List for $15, my second off E-Bay for $50, cost and shipping together. New, there's a Presto on Amazon for $75.

Berkey fan here, too. Those filters really pay for themselves a hundred times over!

*giggles* my dad told me to drink until my pee was light yellow but not clear. clear was over hydrated.

NO idea how accurate that is BUT if i have a tension headache or a carb headache, overhydrating cures it. i drink 2-3 liters and i feel MUCH better.
Excessive overhydrating can lead to low blood sodium levels. All those marathoners collapsing/dying recently was attributed to low serum sodium due to drinking too much liquid. It not only dilutes the sodium but flushes it from the system. You got sensible advice.

We were told not to exceed 1 1/2 to 2 liters per day, including soup.
