No fair! I don't have time to do any baking. :hit

600,000 without power along the storm path right now :th
NC is hitting high tide right now, and they are expecting additional flooding due to the tide coming in :/ What a mess!

What are the night time temps up in Jersey Deb? If they are below 65 degrees, tornadoes won't be such a concern. Tornadoes require warmer air :hu Maybe hitting at night time will be a blessing.

NC has reported nearly 200 car crashes since 8 last night :th One child was killed in one within the last few hours :hit I wish folks would just stay IN!!!

Unfortunately there are people who feel the need to go out and witness this "historic" event - and maybe even get on TV! (sarcasm)
We have had people who thought it was cool to get their child's photo with the waves of incoming hurricanes out on the beach. Ends up with rescue workers sooner or later risking their own lives for morons. It bugs me the most when they take their kids. *sigh*

Those who are facing Irene in the dark - be prepared for it to be scarier than what anyone experienced in the daylight. Thoughts and prayers.

I am just west of the path- but many of my loved ones are directly in the path. I don't think they will be outside acting stupid, though. At least, I hope not.

I did not know that. Right now, it's in the lower 70s, and temps are expected to stay pretty much steady thru tomorrow.

Well I hope it drops about 10 degrees overnight. It wouldn't be nearly as dangerous if it does. I live in tornado country, so I watch the temps and don't worry as much if we have storms at night, though they DO spawn twisters sometimes.
