I haven't planted dill near the tomatoes - good to know they go well together. I often times plant basil near the tomatoes just because I love the smell of both of them!

Thanks @Mini Horses. I do have walnut trees, and very little grows by them. Fortunately I only have two, and one is one the property line. I just looked this up again because I forgot the poison name:

Black walnut (Juglans nigra), and to a lesser extent butternut (Juglans cinerea), a closely-related species, produce a toxic substance that can be harmful to nearby plants. The trees produce the toxin juglone, which inhibits respiration in susceptible plants, causing growth to be retarded, stunted, or deformed.

Still pretty wet but I'm cleaning off the little 25x50 foot spring/fall garden today with hopes it'll dry out enough to till tomorrow late afternoon

I am chronically low in iodine and have hashimotos disease. So I'm glad to find that information! Thanks for the resource. I think we even have that book around here somewhere... If not, I do have a library card.
And spring is here too

Very pretty - spring is awesome. Supposed to get down to 33 tonight and 26 tommorow night the 30 the next night. I hope this will be the last of below freezing for us here in the Ozarks. Got warm over the weekend and I heard frogs croaking and even a few crickets chirping. It's been a long time since I've heard that and became hopeful... But I just took my wife's dog out and it was silent out there again

48 tonight, then 36, 31, and 28 expected the next 3 nights, and we usually have frost any time the expected is 41 or below... Maybe this will be the last

Cranberries...high in iodine, as well as plain yogurt, milk, navy beans, cod fish and of course, some dried seaweeds are huge. If you need that increase in your foods.

I find it interesting to see how the "bad" in some plants can be used for the "good". We just have to know what the bad is and how bad it can be. I mean black walnuts are tasty.

SPRING --- ahhhh yes, the illusive Spring. We had way above normal temps in Feb, now some of the cooler stuff is threatening again. Like milkmansdaughter, some colder than necessary nights There was a little layer of ice on some of the water tubs yesterday. Right now, 2AM & it's 44 outside, some drizzle going on. It's supposed to move thru this AM. We are having 50's all week.

My plum tree was in full bloom in Feb. Hope that the fruit was set BEFORE the heavy winds last weekend. If so, I may get some fruit this year. Last year blooms, then freeze, then storms, then no fruit.

Spring time brings LOTS of eggs!!! Customers need to buy more I am loaded with beautiful eggs right now. So many that hard boiled will be on those girls menu today. Did set eggs under a broody hen yesterday. Goat kids & chicks coming end of March!

I hope I can till a little garden area this weekend.....want to get cooler crops out -- peas, cabbage, etc. Would give me some hope to see them growing!

Spring can definitely hurry up and come for us. I loved the snow, until last week lol, but I'm getting tired of being cold now. I'm looking at the backyard and thinking and planning again. It's time!

Tell me about it? We got up to about an inch of snow this morning. Your seedlings are looking great!
