Just wanted to say....

That's awesome! I do most of my own building too. I don't really have a stand alone coop - I tend to repurpose other building and stalls and pens. I did build a chicken tractor quite a few years ago. I know there are quite a few here who do most things themselves. We're a pretty self-sufficient group of folks! :)

Thanks! I like to be self-sufficient!!!

We love pics! Congrats on your build....how large of a coop did you build and what style did you choose?

I built my current coop...it's a hoop coop that started out very spare so it could be moved, then morphed into something quite different and hasn't been moved since then. It's 12ftx10ft with an attached doghouse.

That's great, Clucky. You'll fit right in here!

My son helped me build our current coop. It's large and airy (12'x 22'), and is attached to the end of the shop. Almost all of it was free or greatly reduced. The nursery panels were 75 or 80% off and the windows were from a thrift shop. The hardware cloth and screws were just about all we paid full price for. The birds in this picture were a group of chicks. The full grown ones are rarely in the coop during the day.
