Deb, I had a similar and very strange brief conversation with my fil about two weeks ago. I guess he is now in business with a man who reads up on the Bilderberg Group and the New World Order. First he asked if I had ever heard of it. "Uhh Ya" I said. Then he started going on about food being the new currency and so on. It all came out in such a blur... The only thing that really hit me was when my MIL said "I actually asked B(fil) if he thought gina would have enough food for all of us". I almost fell over laughing.

If you recall any of my history with these people it was that one moment of satisfaction I had been waiting for almost my entire life. But they are so far from being SS I don't think they could really get there if they had to. It's kinda sad.

I think the first time anyone starts to consider being SS they get a bit over whelmed and it causes a bit of panic. We, as in the folks on this forum have been working on it for years. Some much longer. We take it in stride. One step at a time. Being thankful for every day we have. Your feed store friend will get there too. And now he has you as a source of info. A good thing.

Gina, There is a bit of sweetness and reward when people "finally get it" I guess it is our job as "brothers and sisters" to help inform them....and help them to prepare to help themselves. It was just a bit unnerving to hear such a person like T, almost "fall apart at the seams". He and I have been friends for a few years now....well..maybe not "friends" But good aquaintasnces. We have talked about many things...farming wise. Animal care...good rotation on crops...feed prices...etc. We never really talked about "SHTF" stuff. I t was almost like he finally woke up, and is scared. Well....I am NOT in any way a master preparer...however, I can guide him with my knowledge, and send him here to get all the help he needs...from all of you.
Now, on the family notes....we are waiting on results from tests for my sister. They now think...Menengitus. Hopeing it is Viral, not bacterial. We should know today. Then, I just got off the phone with my sisters "friend" She just got a call from the school...the youngest who was diagnosed with Pneumonia just a few days ago is in the office complaining of fever, stiff neck, aches. Sounds like viral menengitus. She is getting her to the pediatrician today. Already called her Dr and alerted her to the possibilities of exposure. Now...we all have to be watching for the symptoms..as we were all together at my sisters house, just a few weeks ago. Well this just sucks!!!
 
The other side to that coin is that the more that are prepared the less people that I will have to defend myself and my "stash" from. :) ;)
 
We keep mentioning to family to prepare. They ignored us and just said they would come to our house. Well, when Glen Beck said to prepare, then its time to do something. So now my family is starting to stock up on stuff. I was a little miffed that they wouldn't believe their own daughter/sister and it took Glen Beck but at least they are doing something. We had to make it clear to everyone that we don't have enough food to feed the entire family and they have to make their own preparations.

Of course, when other people start preparing, scares the heck out of us because then it may be real. :P
 
YIKES! Now I am wondering....what does HE know...that I dont!??? I think its time to get my plans better laid out...and fast!

That would be like a scene out of "The Walking Dead".....anyone watch that show??? Now THERE'S a SHTF scenario for ya! :lol:
 
I try to encourage his vegetarian eating because herbivores taste better.
