Today was a " If it CAN go wrong, it will" day.
Started this morning...7 am. The furnace was kicking off and on, off and on. Oh, thats not good for the electric bill...so I jump out of bed and run to the wood stove. Half asleep, I step on my "sweet little dogs" ball, and dam near broke my ankle. :/ OK, so I limped to the wood stove, and got it cleaned out, burned my hand on the hot embers still in there from last nights stoking....and was able to get a blazeing fire going in no time. Ahhhh, felt good. I limped to the kitchen to make coffee. Filled the pot with water...and turned to put it in the coffee pot...and splashed it all over me and the floor.

Now I am wet, and cold...and have to pee!! UGH! Finished getting the coffee set up, and ran to the bathroom, barely makeing it! Went to the bedroom to get my clothes for the day.Kicked the chair next to my dresser...and tried not to cuss too loud, as hubby was still sleeping. Got dressed, coffee done...I settled in down by the fire. Ahhhh, wakeing up with a cup of Folgers, and a fire...nice! Soon it was time to get outside...brrrr, was ZERO degrees out there!! On with the boots, hat, coat, scarf, gloves...I felt like the little kid in A Christmas Story...all wrapped up. Grab a bowl of cat food for the outside kitties...and head out. I was greeted by 5 very cold kitties.

So I promised I would heat them some milk when I got back from my chores. Off to the barn. Got the hay and feed for the sheep, and was headed to the goats....BamBam is NOT a morning goat. I was trying to get thier feed in the pan, when he decided I shouldn't be there. Now, he is a small buck, a pygmy, but WOW does he pack a wallop!! My knees buckled, and down I went in the snow. Oh, I am NOT a happy person now!! BamBam learned what a stick is for! Poped him on the front leg...and he backed up. I was able to get the hay in thier shelter...and break the ice in thier trough. That alone took about 20 minutes! Back to the barn to feed the PB pig. At least SHE is more welcoming! Get her feed down, and give her fresh water...sat on the hay and pet the cat. Had to get the old heart to calm down before I went to the coops! Gave the sheep some nuzzles...a few scratches, and off to the coops I went. 300 ft across the front to the coops, the wonds are blowing...oh, about 900 MPH at least! LOL Driving the snow into my face. I was never so happy to get IN the coop. Even tho it was zero outside, it was a "balmy" 35 degrees in the coop. Fed the chickies and turkeys...then had to break ice in the rain barrel. My poor ducks were sitting on the ice on thier little pond...just waiting for me to break it through. Got the rain barrel broke open, and watered the coop....and the ducks. Broke the ice for them, they sure are happy little creatures.

Off to the other coop..and rain barrel. Fed the chickens and the pigeons...and went to the barrel. I was hacking away....the ice was at least 12 inches thick. Then..all of a sudden, i broke through. I swear it was like Old Faithfull! Water came spewing out...I was then soaked.

Got water for the chickens..and headed to the house...to dry out, and warm up. All this before noon!
On the good part of the day, I was able to locate Hay. I am getting it delivered tomorrow....30 bales...$2.50 each. Its 60% alfalfa, 40% timothy. I think the sheep and goats will love it. Now I am settling in by the wood stove, and resting...before I have to clean the kitchen, UGH!
