This last weekend, the weather was Sooooooo nice!! Seriously....in the 50's....sunny..light breeze....ahhhhhh. We SOoo needed that!
Worked outside all weekend...and Monday..I think I need to pace myself. My old back is already trying to tell me, ENOUGH! Danged this getting older thing!
Yesterday I was opening the barn for the sheepies...and setting out thier feed, when Nelly came over to me and just rubber her head on my leg.

So I bent down and started pulling hay from her wool, and scratching her neck. I slipped my hand under her belly...to feel for milk bags...They are filling up! I HAVE to get in there and get her tummy shaved BEFORE she lambs!
Saturday was the chickens day. Opened all the big doors, and winddows, and took a broom to the walls and ceiling. WOW the dust and cob webs really were thick from winter. Swept the walkway, cleaned feeders and waterers, and nest boxes.(9 of them) Cleaned up the pigeon palace....they were cooing at me the whole time.

I will be setting them outside soon. They overwintered in the coop with the Wellies.
Sunday, I headed to the garden. Last year was so depressing with all the rain and all I didnt even clean it up before fall! So, I went out and pulled all the old plants, tomato cages, fencing...and got it cleaned up. Hubby loaded a truckload of firewood that was stacked near the garden, so we both worked, and was able to still hold a conversation.

Funny how he finished at the same time I did, so I was " able" to help him load the wood into the garage. Wanted to get it in there and keep it dry, supposed to have rain off and on all week...and still cool enough to start a fire.
If it EVER dries up enough to get my truck over to the coop, I will start shoveling all the bedding out, and onto the bigger garden. This bedding has been in there since September last year...I just "freshened" it once in a while over the winter. I need to get it on the garden SOON, so it can "cool" a bit before planting. I probably have 3 full truckloads from the one coop.

All the sheep bedding will go on the smaller garden. Prolly 2 truckloads there. One day next weekend, I will get the neighbor kids to come help. $10 sure gets a lot done!!

Well, time to head out, and start another day.
ETA: I forgot to terll you all....SPRING IS HERE! I was standing on the front porch yesterday evening..talking with the neighbor kids...when I saw it...SPRING...I SAW Spring!! FIRST, there was the Robbin..he was just bobbin around in the yard, then....IT came. A BAT. It was flying all over the front yard...then...the ultimate...a SKEETER!!! Yup, Spring has Sprung!
