I will say that 98% of my snow is gone, there is mud everywhere, and the rush of water is scary. I had to dig a ditch from the pond as I never seen it that full and was worried that it might over flow towards the house.
The days are getting so much long and DLST this weekend, were in for longer days!!
You folks getting ready to to get the garden started? I have mine planned and order taters!! spring is coming!!! FINALLY
Well, I havent heard from the rescue coordinator today. Not sure whats happening with the goats. I sure wish we could get them here....then I could slip one off to Ohio!
Planted the peas already. Just waiting to get my seed potatos in. Hopefully SOON!
This weekend is going to be a busy one. We are putting brakes on my truck Saturday...and hopeing to get the barn cleaned out. Then Sunday we are driving to Scottsburg, to see a friend. She has a stove for me, and some cabinets, one with grow lights in it!! Woohoo! FREE! I am one step closer to getting my summer kitchen done...I can almost see my canner going on the stove in there already! LOL I can't waite.
Jay, I LOVE rabbit...but, I just cant do " the deed" First of all..I dont know how, and second, like your kids, I would get too attached to the bunbuns.
You are gonna love them, after you want to strangle them for escaping 28 times..... La Mancha's are funny-looking but very sweet. And quiet, if my boy is typical of the breed.
Escapeing!?? Ohhh, no....we cant have that!! I am planning to keep them locked in the barn for the first few days....just to let them know thats where the "good food" is! I was thinking...maybe these 3 girls were not dumped...but escapees....Hmmm....I think I need a taller fence. 4 ft wont keep them in hu??
Yay! I was hoping everything would work out! I was actually in class earlier, and I thought "I wonder if she got a ride for those earless goats? I hope so" and I come home and you did! Yay!
Thanks everyone. I am so happy to be getting them out of there. Not sure yet if I will keep them. I guess it depends on how hard they are to keep in the fence. There is only ONE drawback.... :/
The ONLY ride I could find for them comes in the form of a CRAZY lady. No, really...this woman is NUTTSO!! She drives me INSANE. She comes out and buys all my extra chickens,duck,roosters,turkeys.....EVERY YEAR! She was out last night....buying the boar meat, that my sister didnt want, and is taking up space in my freezer. I am selling it to her for $1/pound. I explained to her about the smell....and she said...she nor her family can smell it. So she is buying 20 pounds a week. She doesnt mow her yard, because " everything in the yard is potentially edible, and is at its full potential if left to grow" HER words, NOT mine! At least she doesnt live in town. So, in order for me to get the goats, I will have to spend about 4 hours with her, Monday.
