So one garden is in....one to go. Whew! So far the beets, peas, carrotts, onions...planted. Today I am going to TRY to get the taters in! I swear, every time I say that, something comes up and I dont get time. Yesterday I had to replace 2 of the coops doors. We had originally made them as only pop doors. About 2 ft tall, 18 inches wide. The plan was to put a gate at the end of the run, in case I needed to get in the yard to help a chicken, or get them inside for the night. Well...as with most things....the gates never were installed.

So with the predator problem we had the other night..I have to lock everyone in again. This means crawling through the pop doors to shoo the bantys inside. Dont they realise when I call them in its for thier own good!?? NOOooooooooo, so on my hands and knees...I go through the pop door, to get them inside. Well...I am DONE with that!! I took the sawsall....and cut the doorways to about 3 ft tall...and 2 1/2 ft wide, and put new door on there. Now I can get through there, and NOT be on my hands and knees!

I still need to make a few adjustments today...and drag the water hoses to fill the rain barrels, since we havent had enough rain to fill them. THEN plant my taters...I mean it....if I have to plant them by flashlight, I WILL get them in!

Still no goat babies... :/ I give up. When she has them, she has them...I wont check her tail...I wont rub her tummy...I wont go out and check on her 2 or 3 times a day.

( yeah right)

I also need to get the meaties pen finished. They are quickly outgrowing thier brooder. They will be outside chicks soon! Woohoo!!
OK, time to get on my boots...feed and water the animals...turn them out..and go check one more time...for mushrooms. Wish me luck! Altho..im not exactly sure what I would do with mushrooms if I was to actually find them. LOL
