JUSTUSNAK...Summer coming to an end!?

Deb, sorry I missed your birthday! :) I hope it was a happy one despite the sad news and the renewed misery. :hugs I love your spirit and your faith..... :love

Did you post pics of your sheep's horn accident? Did I miss those? Could you duct tape her together again after she has healed sufficiently, just to avoid it getting snagged?

Bee, thanks for the well wishes.
I dont think I posted pics of her horn, but it eventually fell off, and is healing well. :) I just decided to let mother nature take her course. She knows MUCH better how to handle these things. ;) Nelly doesn't seem to mind being a 1 and a half horned sheep. No more beeping for her, with a broken horn! :P

Sweet Nelly! I hope this doesn't affect her breeding desires this year....... :D She will only be half as....well...you know...

:yuckyuck Oh, trust me...she is already rubbing up and down the fenceline...begging the Ram to tear it down. I am trying to make them waite another week. 1 November. Then he gets conjugal visiting till the first of Jan. ;) He better make his move on those 3 Ewes....in 2 months! Then he goes back to the Batchelor pad.

Hey, Deb....gotta question! Black Betty is definitely preggers...big, bagging up and all and due to deliver any day. BUT...I saw her backing up for our wethered ram lamb today and acting as if she were in heat.

She was standing for him, lifting her tail, actually backing up into him.....poor fella had the right notion but not the correct tools for the job. She even lifted her tail and flicked it around after each try like she does when she is in heat.

Is this normal? Could it be that she is just too fat and I just think she got preggers? :hu

Hmmm, if she is bagged...get a grip on a teet, and try to express milk. That is IF she will let you! LOL Is this her first lambing? Maybe she isnt sure what she needs to do now!?? If you can put your hands on her...between her inner thigh and tummy, you will feel the lamb in there. Its VERY COOL to do, IF she will let you! LOL Good luck on the lambing....I hope it goes easy peasy, lemon squeezy for ya's! Can't waite to see pics of the little one(s)
Your poor little guy is so confused now! LOL
ETA: I am in no way an expert on this..LOL I didnt even know my second ewe was preggers( for sure) untill she lambed! LOL

A boy is coming over this weekend to help me up end the sheeples and trim hooves, dose for health and worms, etc. I'll try to feel the lamb then.....if she'll let me! :P

Not that I know anything about sheep or lambing but... don't they say towards the end of a pregnancy if your over due that a roll in the hay will help things along??? Maybe she is just having urges, trying to expedite the lambing?

:P

Funny you should say that! My doctor told me that! When I went in for a check up he said hubby and I should give the old "tale" a try and sure enough D2 was born ON her due date! :lau Labor total was only 2 hours and easy peasy. Coincidence? :hu
