JUSTUSNAK...Summer coming to an end!?

Definitely take some time and put your feet up, that's hot! We're only going to hit around 70 today--should be closer to 80 at this time of year but we've had a really weird cool wet spring.

OK, almost 7pm, and I am F I N I S H E D ! After running this morning and getting the last of my garden plants.....I had to wait untill it cooled some before getting them in the ground. So, its only 84 degrees...I headed out to get them in. I ended up with about 15 sweet potato starts. Made my row, and got them in. Planted 4 more pepper plants, and a hill of cucumbers. Whew. Then while I had the hose out that far, I drug it to the pigs area, and made them another waller. They really DO appreciate that. Got all the hoses put up...eggs gathered, chickens locked down...and I am F I N I S H E D! Going to head to the shower soon, and call it a day. Make some coffee, and sit on the front porch and watch the sunset. Ahhh. Another day....job done!

So, as I was sitting here, contemplating my shower...BANG,BANG,BANG on my front door! I just about jumped out of my skin! It was a friend of ours....from across the way. He had been fishing, and wanted to know if we wanted them. He had 2 nice bass, and 10 large bluegills. Well of course I wanted them! He said he had gone last weekend and caught over 50 bluegills. So, we set to cleaning them, and they are now resting in the freezer. As soon as I finished, I RAN to the shower. NOTHING was going to get in my way. So, shower is done, I actually smell HUMAN again...and I am soaking my foot in cool Epsome salts. Ahhhhh.

Definitely. Its so hot and humid out there still...and I was sweating again..and the fish...ummm, yeah...hot shower was def in need!
We got about 4 pounds after we were done. A nice mess!

That is enough fish to feed you for awhile! Don't you love it when fishermen don't like to eat it? All the more for us.

So, Its Friday....Hubby is off, and I believe he has plans to be working outside most of the day. I soaked my beans overnight, so I can make Moolies pork and beans and get them canned.
The garden is planted....so nothing more to do there other than maintenance for a while. No creepy meat birds to off....what WILL I do with my time!?? I already cleaned the carpets....guess I can get the little bit of laundry I have out on the line. Maybe I will putter around in the summer kitchen, and get some things put away...things, being empty jars and such.

Yay! I'm so glad you got the rod out...even if it did involve all that drama....I'd have passed out too!
