What a great weekend!! My DIL came in with a friend, and my 3 grand sons from OK. Here are my 5 grandsons. My grand daughter was sleeping, and they didn't want to wake " the princess" LOL
They stayed until this morning.....we had a WONDERFUL time with them. They kept wanting to go on en "egg hunt"

( to gather eggs)
Yesterday we had over 20 people here for dinner. I put a 15 pound turkey in the oven, and a 10 pound ham....made 15 pounds of mashed taters, stuffing, veggie tray, 5 pints of green beans( was not enough) and made 2 dozen white clover leaf rolls. There are a few scraps of turkey left, and a small bowl of stuffing. Enough for me and hubby tonight. It just made me feel good to see them all eat like that, knowing they would NOT walk away hungry.Oh, and yesterday, my son had planned to propose to his girlfriend, in front of the family. He showed me the ring, and put it in his shirt pocket. I begged him to let me hold it, or at LEAST put it in his pants pocket. He insisted it would be OK. Well.....I got the call that my friend was bringing her goat over on short notice...so I had to have my son go out and move the pigs around. Well, the pigs were having none of that!
After about 30 minutes of chasing those pigs, in ankle deep muck, we finally finished...just as my friend pulled up with the goat.
Well, just before dinner...my son informs me...he LOST THE RING!!!!!!! We searched, as best we could...but could not find it. It is lost in the mud...somewhere. I had a ring...gold cross with small diamonds. My son gave me for mothers day several years ago. So, I let him have it to propose with. Whew! I told them once it dries up a bit, I will get the metal detector out, and search for it...and clean it and send it.
So, the goat....ummm yeah. I milked her for the first time yesterday. She was a little jumpy, because I didn't have a stanchion...she is in a new place, new people. But I was able to get a quart!

Not bad for a first timer, ( me) This morning went MUCH better, I was able to get a quart and a half...I sang to her as I milked...and she seemed to calm down.
I will have her until Friday evening some time.

I think I like this...maybe I WILL get me a goat...or 3 LOL I drank her milk this morning....from what I milked yesterday...YUMMO!! Abby and I are becoming great friends..

All the kids left this morning to head back to OKC.

I sat here for a while....listening to the clock tick...and had to get up and outside. The quietness was driving me NUTS! So I cleaned the coops a little, sat with the chickens and ducks for a bit...and gathered a few of the turkey eggs. ( cray birds are laying again) Now I need to go strip the beds, and do some laundry. LOTS of towels need to be washed. Maybe I will get a short nap...
