Almost Self-Reliant
Thanks everyone...yup, Abbie is wonderful. It sorta bothers me that her hooves are in this shape, because I know my friend usually takes great care of her does. I am wondering if since she added a 3rd, if she might be getting overwhelmed. Maybe I WILL end up with her.
I have learned a valuable lesson with Abbie.....First...she loves to be sang to when I milk her. Second and MOST importantly.....sing slow soft songs...she sways a little. If I sing, for instance....There was a Farmer had a goat and Abbie was her name Oh....she "dances". Harder to get milk when she is doing the 2 step! Have you ever tried milking a goat doing the 2 step? All I can say....no use crying over spilt milk. LOL Oh, and another thing...do NOT tie her where she can see Tulip, the PB pig. She snorts, stomps, and will NOT eat her grains.
So I have to feed Tulip outside while I milk Abbie. Oh, and if I don't give her a thank you hug, she bawls! Spoiled goat! LOL

Animals fed and watered, check. Garden weeded, check, Laundry going, check, fridge cleaned out. check...let see, I need to clean the kitchen, and......think about supper....maybe I will start in on cleaning out the pantry...I saw some mouse dropping in there the other day,
. OK, Im off ... again!

Wrong Abby.
REALLY!? She is a first time freshener..she had twins, a doeling and a buckling. They are currently still on the doe, but as soon as she weans them...I can go get my gal!! I asked her what she wanted for her...she said..we will figure something out, I don't want money exchanging between us.
Now I have to go looking for me a good milk bucket like she has. I Love that bucket. Stainless steel, half moon opening in the lid. I am getting a goat!!! WHEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!
So we go out and get the pig rounded up, took about 30 minutes.I told her to bring her kids, teens, to help because my foot is still too sore to be chasing a pig. Oh, she brought ONE kid, about 15, and thin as a blade of grass...and SCARED of the pig. REALLY!????? Between her and I we were able to get the pig loaded....good bye pig!!!!!!!! It wasn't too bad...she DID bring me LOTS of Comfrey starts...AND...Organic Arnica flower seeds. I am going to make an oil rub tonight, for my foot with some, then plant the rest. Because of my "off" day....Hubby and I went to Chinese for dinner.
Now I need my shower...to make my oil..and settle in for the night. Tomorrow we are going to my sisters place at the lake, taking a day off. MUCH NEEDED...I think I will toss back a few crown and cokes..and enjoy the lake scene. Sunday, we are headed to Ohio again, to the FIL for another cookout. Next week hubby is off, so we are going to down a few trees...and get started on the firewood. Weather permitting. We have 5 ricks.....need 10 more. UGH!
