I always use circular needles because the straight needles are terribly uncomfortable. Hoping to learn Continental knitting, I’ve heard it’s easier on the hands! I’m a thrower! That’s English knitting? I think? I haven’t heard of that Spanish one though, going to have to look on YouTube for that one!

Part of my current issue is I spin finer than I can comfortably knit. Next time I’ll do 3 ply instead of 2, it may help a little.
Or hold the thin yarn double.... you can do it that way.

I had forgotten this thread! Here's my makes for this year - a hat and headband.

I started these about a decade ago! I spent waaay too much money on hand-dyed 100% superfine merino sock weight yarn. 5 skeins, about $130 all together. :hide I planned to make a scarf.

When I started knitting, the colors got murky and weird. So I knitted the sock yarn into a chunky yarn. Since it was hand-dyed, this meant knitting lengths from each skeins, mixing them up and splicing it all together. And then I didn't have enough for a scarf.

I decided to use the yarn up this year. I had enough for a hat and a headband. I used a bubble stitch on the hat forcwarmth, and a 1x1 rib on the headband so its twice as thick. They are heavy and very warm. 😍View attachment 25272

they look very nice and i'm sure they are plenty warm! :)

Thanks @tortoise ! I will probably not make many sweaters for the kids because they take so long and kids grow so fast! My friend is a sheep farmer/fiber arts teacher and she’s teaching me everything, and suggested I start with a toddler sized sweater. I ripped it out and started over a few times but it’s going great now.

my favorite new obsession is spinning thoughView attachment 16684
Wow! I am impressed! You have made beautiful yarn! Are you obsessed enough with spinning that you have extra yarn to sell?
