Ravelry.com is a great help. There's lots of help for the new knitter or crocheter and tons of patterns for knit or crocheted lace. I just bought a tatted ornament last week and would LOVe to learn how to do tatting.

I bought an old book on sale on tatting lace. Unfortunately, it assumes a certain knowledge of the subject to start with. Which I don't have. I LOVE lace.
