Looking for Broody Hen pics

That's Lucy Lu. She's pretty fierce for a little ball of feathers :D

Ok.. I just found a photo of what I was talking about.. I guess we had too many roosters at the time... Poor Buffy sure looks beat up (Probably don't want to use this for your project.. wish she was looking better, it was about 7 years ago).

I like your kitty! She looks like my cat, Cinderella, and her daughter, Rerun.

Awww!

What kind are those blue/gray hens, Dammumis?

I remember once we had a hen hatch out a bunch of chicks and the same day, one of our cats, Ring, had kittens just inches away.. She left the chickies alone!
Blue splash cochins. The most broodiest hens ever.

Your cochins look bantam sized. Am I right?

I truly LOVE cochins. That is what I used to raise and show primarily as a kid.

I had whites, reds, mottled, blacks, and buffs.

Cochins will be my little old lady birds. (when I have enough space) I will raise them in my old age to just sit and pet and watch them adorn my lawn.

I get WAY too attached to them to keep them as regular poultry. :)

Oh my, that must have been a great place to brood babies.

No, they are full size. One did hatch d'uccles though.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to name a cat Rerun.. We also had one named Dipstick.. Affectionately, of course.. (she gave birth in a rusty bucket filled with nails, of all places).

I guess the cat was in such a maternal mood that she didn't bother eating any. The chicks would even snuggle up with the kittens at times.

There must have been a sign on the maternity ward wall.

"Patients are kindly asked not to eat the other patient's offspring. Thank You! The Management"
