Well, he spent all day in bed yesterday and ate some homemade chicken noodle soup (I will never buy canned again, it was so easy) and this morning he is obviously bored and cleaned both bathrooms while I cleaned the rest of the house and finished up breakfast and now he is out building 2 nesting boxes for my (hopefully) pregnant rabbits that are due to kindle this week.

Typical. He just can't sit still and rest.

Well, hubby is better...didn't take all 5 days of Tamiflu but I did manage to get him to take 3 days worth. I also made another pot of chicken noodle soup and he is still eating on that. He called me this morning from work and said he found out that somebody else left on Friday with the flu as well so I guess it was going around work.

We got a bunch of snow Sunday and lost our power in the wee hours of Monday morning...glad I filled the bathtub! We made oatmeal out on the side burner of our gas grill for breakfast and heated water for everyone and then played in the snow all day cause Chad was off of work for President's day anyway. A friend of his brought over some snowboards and he and Tyler got to snowboard in the back field for the first time ever. We had a really good time and when I went back in the house to check on the dogs the power was back on so I started cleaning up the kitchen from breakfast. We just took it easy the rest of the day, I had to go to PT and that was painful but I'm recovering. I had so much pain in my left shoulder blade area that we had to turn off the electro stimulation. Still did mechanical and manual traction and 25 minutes of heat and then we added some exercises with the bands to my stretching routine.

I feel better in some ways but I'm really still hurting in spurts. I'm still going 3 days a week to PT. Tried to have sex last night but my lower back starting cramping up. It just sucks. Sex is not fun for me anyway but this is just making it even worse.

"Schoolwork" is done for the morning but we are going to read a bunch later on and then go to the pool. I'm hoping that swimming a bit today will make my back and shoulders feel better some. My left shoulder is really sore still and I just don't know what's up but it is tender to the touch and I spent last night with heat on it off and on.

OMG, I can't stand the electrostim. They used it on me some for my knee, and I HATE the way it makes me feel, I swear it feels like pins and needles, like when your foot or hand falls asleep REALLY bad!

I hope you feel better soon!!

Well, right before Thanksgiving I bent over to pick up a lightweight folding chair and wham! was flat on my back for a week. They put me on steroids and pain killers and it got better but I aggrivated it again about a month ago. It was so bad I called the dr and scheduled PT to see if we could get it fixed. The official diagnosis is osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia (which I was diagnosed with 12 yrs ago) and so I have been doing PT for 3 days a week for the last 3 weeks or so. It seems like if my neck and shoulders are sore then my back is okay and if my neck and shoulders are okay then my back is acting up. This week they had switched me to mechanical traction on my lumbar region instead of my neck like we had been doing and it was so painful that they had to keep me 15 extra minutes to ice me down afterwards.

They are giving it one more week before they decide if they want me to do an MRI and see a neuro specialist to see if I have nerve damage in the low back. My shoulders are on fire....typical. Hubby is frustrated cause he wants it fixed but it is probably something I will just have to live with for the rest of my life. They are going to give me a list of pool exercises Monday so we'll see if that helps. I do stretching exercises 2 times a day and most every day do moist heat.

It's frustrating. I have a family history of osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and osteopenia so I figured I would have to deal with it at some point....just not at 36. :(

Yikes! That sucks!!!
I wonder if alternative therapies would help you? I hope the pool exercises help, they can do wonders on some injuries and issues.

Feel better!!
