Thanks guys....I woke up to another dead mallard this morning, this time one of the older ones was dead in the chicken tractor. I don't know what happened. Could have been stress from moving them or could have gotten smothered, who knows? What is it with these birds? So total, I have lost 9 mallards since the first shipment arrived.
I was gonna go shopping this afternoon but Chad left Tyler's booster seat in his car so I have to wait until he gets home from work, which isn't a bad thing cause I'll get him to take the kids and go by myself cause I still haven't been able to get him a Father's Day gift yet, I tried to look for something the other day but the kids were just being too obnoxious so I left the store with nothing.
I got some cookbooks from the library so I'm gonna spend the day looking at recipes and making a grocery list. Last night's dinner went okay, but my BF called me and said "are you coming or what?" Yeah, I missed the kick off for the summer reading program at the library for the kids.

So, I told her I was sorry and I couldn't come cause now we have dinner guests and I would meet her at the next event if she would text me the day before so I wouldn't forget. The next one is gonna be at an old plantation home where they board horses and the book is a horse theme.
I'm just done. It poured down rain last night....the lightning woke me up at midnight and realized I had left both dogs on the front porch so I scrambled to get them in before the bottom fell out.
I am cold today. Hubby set the thermostat on 73 and I have chill bumps on me, my son is under a blanket and my daughter is in long sleeves. I just got up and turned the thermostat back up to 76.
Dinner last night was okay...I couldn't eat half of what she brought but everyone else liked it. She made a cake and left it for Chad and the kids. I ate turkey, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob. It was Thanksgiving dinner in June
Then we let the kids play outside until 9 and threw everyone in the shower and I collapsed at around 10. I woke up on the couch at 11 and went to bed. The weather report said a chance of thunderstorms in the evenings for the next 7 days. Fun. I'm not knocking the rain, we need it but I wish it would just rain all day and then be nice for 3 or 4 and rain all day again. It would be easier than having to shut up everything outside every evening. I usually leave the barn windows open for the goats and in the garage but if it is going to rain I have to close them.
Oh, and I have a broody hen. I also have no rooster so I am shoving duck eggs under her as fast as my remaining indian runner can lay them. She was sitting on 3 this morning. She got up off the nest to eat this morning so I shoved another duck egg on her nest and as far as I know she is back on it. So for now we are up to 4 eggs. We'll see what happens. If my duck will keep laying then I will keep shoving eggs under her until she seems satisfied but I think 6 will be my limit. I already have over 30 ducks right now so whatever she may hatch out for me I will sell. It would be nice to have some extra money to pay for a bag or two of feed, especially if I don't have to do any of the work.
