Meriruka's Tales - need advice on squash

I did a little googling and it looks like the flavor will be better the longer you leave them on the vine. They will ripen off the vine, but wont taste as good. Also there were references to spaghetti squash not getting stringy like it is supposed to if you pick it too early.

Oh, rats. I kinda figured that was the case, I was just hoping someone knew a magic trick that would make dragging 50 sheets around every night unnecessary.
